In the Beginning

Well, I am well on my way. I officially started my journey on Jan 28,2007. Since that time I have had a mini maintenance and a full fledge maintenance. I did my mini maintenance on 2.12.07, which in my opinion was really too early, but was just so anxious until I had to do something. The next maintenance was done on 2.26.07. On this date, I banded my locs, and really washed. I also counted my locs and I have 218. I was quite pleased with my results. I don't know why its all so exciting. Before, I could wear my coils or my twists for like 2 months at the time and not think about them, but its like now, I am watching a pot to see if it will boil. :o) On 3.8.07 I trimmmed some ends that were very scraggly. I did my regular trim before I installed my locs, but the ends were just outright nasty! Not quite sure why, but I got rid of those suckers and my hair looks even better. I have noticed that my back locs are really starting to look like locs! They are firming up, and taking on that loc look! Some of the ends are getting that ball on the end that I have read about in other albums, and I am getting some buds..... Yea! At any rate, all in all I am so in love with my decision to loc. In the past I have always thought about it, but I knew it would have to be an internal decision before I actually did it. Now, I think I just need to stop thinking about it so my hair can just do its thang. I have tried to latch and it just aint happening. I dont know if I did the latch wrong(dont think I did), or what, but I didnt like it. I kept 2 in the back of my head and took the other few out that I had latched and decided to stick with what I know right now. Maybe as they mature I might be able to, but right now, latching is not an option for me. All those sistas out there that can latch, my hat goes off to you. Dont understand it either, cause I like to crochet! Oh well. Anyway, this is my entry for the month of March, and pictures will be posted to show the progress. Thanks to all for reading!
