Excitement? Not really. I think the excitement kinda went when I hit the 6 month mark. I mean dont get me wrong, I am excited, but I just don't document everything like I did the first 6 months. Hard to describe. Anyway, I still love my locs and I am pleased to say that I am glad I decided to loc my hair. I just wish I would have done this a lot earlier in life. I hear that a lot from a lot of locers, they wish they would have started sooner. I guess its just you have to get to that right moment in life before you loc. I am definitely there.
Well, it was like 100+ degrees last week and I decided that I needed to put my hair up. Not like its all down my spine or anything, but it felt cooler up ya know. So, I 2 stand twisted, china bumped, released just a little the next a.m. and wore my hair that way for a few. When the bumps (knots) started to come down I perm rolled the ends, released, fluffed a little bit and kept on rocking my pin up. I'll post a pic of that later.. So, I am headed into week 2 w/ this style from 1 style and I am so loving it. Gotta get to washing tho. I tie my head up at night, get up in the a.m. spritz a little, fluff and keep on gettin it... Ah, can't get any better than that, can it????
Washing* i have read so many blogs on washing, when to wash when not to wash, how often to wash, you name it I think I have read it. Anyway, I concluded that I have to do what I have been doing all along. In the summer months I have always washed more. My head sweats, gotta wash it. The winter months are a little less frequently. I have even been told by a "stylist" shug you gotta quit washing your hair for it to loc. My 2 cents on that: I think i understand what you are saying, but my hair is going to loc regardless. The h20 IMO helps my hair to hug and loc onto one another. Just my 2 cents... Anywho, thats my take on washing loced or trying to loc hair.. Wash as much as you see fit. whatever tickles your fancy....
