Coming into my own....
Chewy looking bottom layer. I don't know what it is up w/ that..If anyone can help me out, please do.
just a little cartoon fun. Showing me wearing my locs unstyled(no curls)
no curls from the side. I can still see some of the twist pattern.. Amazing. Looks like I just started, but some of these puppies were three combined into one.. :o)
Showing some color thats all. I ADORE the fullness of my lips! *smooches*
Just me; coming into my own.. Still no curls, and back to my earthtones... :o)
Well, I really feel like I am coming into my own so to speak. Since starting this road trip to loc-dome I have absolutely refused to wear my hair umanipulated, meaning w/ out curls, pinned up something. Well, my precious daughter informed me that my hair looks good, but people can't really tell they are locs and its like I am trying to hide the fact that I am growing locs. Not like I really care about what people think, but I really was putting a LOT of time into rolling and making sure the curls were justso. Soooo, I listened to my precious babay girl and decided to give it a go. So for 2 weeks now I have worn my hair w/out any styling... How do I feel about it? Its growing on me. Didnt realize how dependent I was on the curls until I decided to just leave them alone for a minute. Also decided to wear a few more colors on my face instead of ALWAYS wearing my routine brown/beige/earthtone colors. Colors on my lips seems to make them HUGER (nice word) than what they already are, but you know what? I love the fullness of my lips. As the hubby says they are sexy... Ahhhh yes. But I do see a difference between the colors and the earth tones.... I think I will stick with my earth tones, but I will definitely do more of the color thing. Another observation: my bottom layer of locs look "chewy". (check out the 1st picture) Do you think it is the way I tie my hair up, or what? Do you think over a period of time they will smooth out? Yet another observation:The combined ones are condensing just like they did before. I do know that I am having some budding going on as well. Interesting. and one more thing that I have done.. I cut the majority of my ends after I combined and retwisted. Believe it or not it did my hair a WORLD of good. I think this is like the 2nd time I have cut those wispy ends, so I think it is something that is going to just be with me throughout this trip. i don't think I'll be cutting again.Right about now I am pleased. I am glad that I combined my locs before i got too far down the road and starting losing some. In a sense it feels like I have started over, but believe me it is all good.

Your locks are looking good. I was thinking about starting over at one point but figured it would probably wouldn't make a difference the next time around. I was unhappy with some of my locks especially the ones in the front, some were thin and taking too long to lock. However I decided to 2 strand twist some and I use locking gel to help them to stay together and so far its working. I wish I would've done this sooner but oh well we live and learn.I also decided to stop styling my hair for a while because I thought maybe it was hindering the locking process not sure if its working or not. Also for some reason since I started using a new shampoo my hair reaally seems to be speeding up on the locking process which is great. Anyways I wrote more than enough glad to know all is well.
